Body Art Festival
at
Paradise Lakes Resort
04/21/07

Paradise Lakes, a Tampa area cloting optional resort, hosted a body art festival that was combined with their yearly *cotton tail* run. Bodypainters pro and amateur alike were invited, with the promise of many willing canvases and even paints to be supplied. I was lucky enough to learn of this event just a day beforehand. After speaking with the lovely Sabrina Vizzari, event director, I attended the event as a photographer. I was asked to remain in a specific area where photography would be allowed, but I couldn't help myself from roaming where I wasn't supposed to. Nevertheless, I always asked permission before shooting, and informed all subjects where the pix would be used. This upscale resort is a lively place but attendance specific to the body paint festival was not as high as I had hoped.

Upon arrival, I met Sabrina (Did I mention she was lovely?) shortly before she got bodypainted herself. The One and Only Pashur the Body Painter was there to do the honors, while Sabrina was being interviewed by Clothes Free TV. I imagine sound techs like Pam are probably hard to come by...

Vendors were there, too, including Ana, who was gracious enough to model some of her natural jewelry. See Ana's Touch for more.

Cathie of Sapphire's Exotic Creations was there demonstrating her non-pierced nipple jewelry to an enthusiastic audience.

As for the body painting itself, Pashur and Reby came through in spectacular fashion.

Scott Fray demo'ed body painting techniques with the assistance of the ever Foxy Moxy.

I was even graced with a brief shopping trip through the resort's boutique,... Never underestimate the power of lingerie!

Many thanks to all of the attendees who allowed themselves to be photographed, (some painted, some not.) If I understand correctly, this was the first of what is to become an annual event, and I hope it will continue to grow in size and popularity!
